The Summer is here! Days are longer; what are you going to do with all that extra sunshine? Why not use the spare daylight hours to: take a trip to the river, go on a hike, take a wine tour, go picking fruit, or attend a festival? Wherever your adventures take you, let us get you there stress free. #AdventureAwaits is here to plan and book all of your getaways so you don’t have to! Take a trip to this month’s #FeaturedDestination for a peak of what YOU could be doing this summer!

The Blue Ridge Mountains are the oldest mountains in the United States. The Blue Ridge Parkway is the top road trip destination of the year! It does not matter what season you choose to visit; the summer has the river, the fall has the leaves, the winter has the snow, and the spring has the blooms. While you are in the south east, why not visit the #Biltmore? It is the oldest estate in America, built by the Vanderbilt’s, and on immense acreage in western North Carolina. Take a tour of the house, gardens, and winery with the entire family!

Whenever you get hungry, you can go right down the road to downtown Asheville. This expanding mountain city is hype to everything from breweries, to art galleries. You can bike, kayak, raft, or tube your way down the Pidgeon, French Broad, Ocoee, Or Nantahala River. The River Arts District has a montage of music playing every night. The city is rampant with vibrant people who are passionate about their beliefs which range the entire political spectrum. When you need to re-energize, you should stop by any of the numerous food options, catering to every palette or dietary restriction with flavor and style.

After all of this activity, you will need a place to lay your head to rest. Take a load off and reconnect with nature at the incredibly majestic, hospitable, family owned, Nantahala Log Cabin Lodge for a cozy remote stay in the national #Nantahala forest. During the day you can raft, hike, zipline, and fish, before getting dinner at Pizza By the River. Venture into Maggie Valley to stay at The Swag, and experience abundant wildlife, hiking, and fishing at your doorstep! The rivers are abundant with Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout followed closely by trained fishermen to guide you to your big catch.

If berry picking and wine touring on a farmstead is more your style, venture into Hendersonville. The hills are sprinkled with orchards all leading up to the renowned Apple Festival. Take your taste buds on an adventure on a tour of a winery such as the family owned Over Mountain Vineyards. See your food and drink, farm to table at a cozy farmstead on the hillside. Everything in the Blue Ridge Mountains is to be yearned for this summer season. Let us take you there. Adventure Awaits!
